( and that's his last word on the matter. when bonnie shows up, damon's already seated at the bar, a tumbler of bourbon in front of him and a stormy look on his face. this is... weird. having bonnie here, in what he's come to think of as his and dick's place. not that he'd be sentimental enough to admit to that, or that bonnie would even know, considering she just got here, but it's still just... weird. he likes the separation between his life from mystic falls and his life here — only elena even knows that he was interested in someone else, and even she doesn't know anything about dick. there's elena and caroline and bonnie and everything else from mystic falls, and then there's dick and the den and everything here in eudio. kept far apart from each other where neither can affect the other. he'd liked that. why the hell had he invited bonnie here? )
[As usual, Bonnie arrives late. Five minutes late, not her usual fifteen, but late all the same. Despite this, she confidently finds her way to the bar and rummages around her purse for her ID. This isn't exactly what she'd expected, but then again, she's not sure what she expected. Damon looks different and yet exactly the same.
It's like doing the time warp, except she's the one stepping into the not-so-distant past. Except this time, she might be breaking the time stream in the process. How does someone tell Damon the future? Especially one that seems ripped from a fairy tale?
As she sits next to him, she flashes him a smile as she hands her (perfectly normal and legal) ID to the bartender.] Hey. Sorry I kept you waiting.
( it's been a year and a half, more or less, since damon came back to mystic falls, and by now he expects some things from the people there: elena will be a martyr, stefan will be an idiot, matt will be useless, and bonnie will be late. invariably, always, at least ten minutes late. when she finally shows up, he's only surprised that it was five minutes and not ten.
she sits next to him and smiles, and damon gives her a clear once-over, not caring how it may look. bonnie doesn't smile at him. bonnie's never happy to see him, she absolutely would leave him in the cold, and she wouldn't piss on him if he was starving. this thing where she's smiling at him is weird and damon doesn't trust it.
she seems normal otherwise, though, as far as damon can tell. she still smells like bonnie, at least. )
[She expected this, especially as the bartender hands over a glass of bourbon for her. Bonnie wasn't exactly much for it three years ago, but she hangs around with someone long enough and... well, some habits are hard to get rid of.
A slight nod as she takes a sip.] Yeah. Maybe two and a half, if we're going by specifics.
[Her expression softens as she looks at him, really looks at him,] Time works differently here, doesn't it?

( okay so he technically knew about timeline disparities because elena's is the BANE OF HIS EXISTENCE but three years is a little much, bonbon. )

Maybe we should talk about this in person? Not much happened, but the stuff that did deals with Alaric, so...
Name a place and I'll be there. [She trusts his judgment with bars, even if she may be fifteen minutes later than he expects]
